I didn't know that the waiting staff can be paid below minimum wage in the United States until I was told by someone else on IIN. At the moment I'm visiting the US and Canada and I have been tipping people when necessary.
This probably explains why I feel that the service has been above average from what I get back home.
I do get annoyed when a waiter approaches me and asks me how my meal is going, etc.
I would hate the idea of going to work and wondering if I'm going to get enough to get bread on the table.
IIN I don't get giving tips to waiters
