Why would you say that? People who commit suicide are far less likely to go to Heaven than those who don't. I'm not saying whether they do go to Heaven or not, but ending one's life in a state of mortal sin is not a good way to ensure one goes to Heaven.
Deppression is an ILLNESS. You cant just *not* be suicidial, it takes time and help. Telling poeple that will just make them panic, and you dont even know their religion.
That doesn't make it any less true. Telling someone the truth that committing suicide would likely have a terrible consequence far worse than whatever they may be experiencing now is a good thing. If one knows the terrible consequences of such an action, they would be far less likely to participate in it, would they not?
