Some pet stores have no kill shelters who take in cats. There's one called One by One which is really careful about making sure the cats get a good home. Or ask people you know or work with if they could take your cat.
Ps I'm sorry you are so desperate you have to join the military. I don't think it's the best idea but I wish you to stay safe.
