In case of romantic relationships, hopefully more variables enter the scene. On the other hand, evolutionary biologists would argue that earning power of the man in question (or his potential qualities as a provider) has always been one of them. Whether it is sad or not, it might be biologically and statistically normal also for our species. And whether the exceptions should be applauded or frowned upon is another question. Personally, I would applaud them, and no, I am not a jobless person.
