Well...My boyfriend died in 2014 and I have also struggled to find a new relationship. One obstacle has been comparing a potential partner to the one I lost. But you can't do that because everyone is different, and it's not fair to either party. Also have you considered that you're not quite ready? Personally, there have been times I thought I was but when it came down to it, I just really wasn't.
The most important thing you (and I, for that matter) need to remember is that there is no rush. You will find that person exactly when you're supposed to.
By the way, a random bit of totally unsolicited advice: I would avoid online dating apps/websites because *usually* the kinds of people on them are toxic as hell. Stupid, superficial girls and guys both only looking for hook ups.
