Is it normal I can't hit people in the face?

Avoid lethal neck assault. Try the ribs if 'them' in the ribs or just simply disarm them, get them in a arm or leg lock or just better yet do anything... just don't try a hay maker they can end relatively badly (trust me im from Australia)
