I lost my virginity to a guy who works in modelling and travels quite a lot around the world doing photo shoots. He left to live in New York right after we had sex, and so I haven't seen him again; but I can't get over him. I am always daydreaming he will take a plane and come and ask me out... which is very unlikely.

if it was very recent then it's understanding that the feelings may still be strong, but... if it's been a while then you (the OP that is) may need to consider that... some people have sex without emotional ties.
Guys are not like women. They can be cruel and selfish. This guy obviously knew he was leaving. So the thing to forget about him is to think about how disgusting and twisted it was that he did that to you. That should be a big turn off right there, and hopefully you will find someone special.
