  • Nothing is wrong with going so on one hand, its plenty normal to go to church. However, I have had people my age and a few elderly people to basically use the fact that I don't go to church as me not living the way I should or as if I'm missing something in my life. I find this incredibly judgmental since I am quite the nice person but according to them, that isn't good enough if I'm not going to church and joining in their daily customs and beliefs. I do have my own beliefs, its just that I don't show them so openly like other church-goers do. Even worse, there are people who go to church just to give the illusion that they are good when they are hateful outside of it which negates every single Sunday of effort.

But back to your situation, I do feel a little saddened that you have to pretend to be into going to church for your parents even though I know you do it for fear of how they would react to the truth. If you just decided not to go anymore, you would be within your right and no one should be able to force your choices. Still, you said you have no ill-feelings for them and you get to see a female of choice there so yes, it isn't hurting much aside from a quiet inner voice.
