I am the same. I often tell people that and most people do not care if you forget their name. However some people are total prudes about it when you do. Which I just find petty.
Well, they must think too highly of themselves if they expect people to remember their name like that. I don't think most people care TO learn someones name. So kudos to those that do; I don't think they realize how good it makes some people feel.
I only talked to him about 5 times. I have no idea how he expected me to remember his name even though I did remember him. I even apologized to him for forgetting and he at this point told me to never speak to him again.
Well the thing was I would see him periodicly since he knew one or two of my most circle of friends. We would sometimes bump into each other but after that point he ignored me every time I saw him. A real prude in my opinion.
Is it normal I am always surprised when someone uses my name?

Never again? Oh my, that's a little drastic for merely forgetting their name. I suppose he's not worth associating with at that point.
