I know EXACTLY how you feel, and here are a few advices: You can't trust religion 100%, but only because God wanted it to be that way. Life is sort of a test. If God has said "hey humans, here I am!" Then everyone would know that he existed, and take him for granted. But don't worry, God doesn't get angry at you for being afraid of death and trusting science!
If you did not trust the unknown, you would not be human.
And to all the people shouting "God is impossible because of science!":
God created science. He created the Universe so that it would have laws of nature & physics. I know that the idea of a God sounds improbably in our Universe, but that's only because...well...He isn't in out Universe. The laws of nature do not apply to him. nature does not apply to him. Humans have become so used to living in a world where everything makes sense, that believing in something that our Universe do not support, feels Impossible.
Oh, and here are some advices:
When you feel really bad and depressed, go into a place you can be alone, and pray to God & Jesus Christ. They will listen! Just ask them to care of you, just ask them to give you the strength to get through the day without falling into the pit of despair!
Trust me, I do this when I feel down. It really helps.
