I think every human being goes through this at some point. I had what I would call a complete existential crisis about a year ago; I wasn't religious like you, I just collapsed into this miserable atheist heap and all I could think about was how life was meaningless because everybody dies, etc., etc. (I don't recommend doing this, by the way, I almost tried to kill myself. I think I was saved by a mixture of terror, music and Buddhism, as well as medication, but anyway...) Jack's advice is actually good; instead of thinking about dying, or whether or not there's a Heaven, remember to live your life and that those are things you can't possibly control. Learning to accept that is really important.
