My girlfriend has never seen me cry either and we've been together for about 3 years. There was a time, when my life was an inferno of self hate, depression and really bad thoughts I almost acted on.
But I never let anyone see me in my worst. I used to sneak booze down into the garage when my girlfriend was asleep, drink, have a good cry, get angry, get depressed, drink more, get drunk and then go to bed.
During the day I pretended everything was good and I was in my prime, surging forwards.
No man wants to be known as that weak, pathetic crybaby. A man can cry... only when hidden away from everyone. We are not made of stone, but a man has to be tough, smart, caring and provide for his girl and the people he loves.
How would my girlfriend feel if I broke into tears? I'd look like some pathetic loser! I got way more dignity than that!
So I soldiered forwards.
I don't think your girlfriend would think you are a pathetic loser for crying, though I do get that it's embarrassing to cry in front of people, even as a girl myself.
