Is it normal he lied about death?

It sort of feels like, "Oh, you disagree with what I say?! Well, instead of talking it out with you, I'm going to DIE, and make you feel really bad for disagreeing with me!!! Learn your lesson!!"

It's great he's not dead, but death isn't a joke. Death is serious and permanent; the grieving process only is hard to deal with and can last to months or years (Yes, even for you). And he made you go through all the crying and heartache for a lesson? That's horrible and manipulative. It would be best to discontinue the friendship, but if you do decide to stay, just be careful.

Are you a guy or girl? It's not important to the advice already given, but I see this kind of behavior a lot when an asshole guy is trying to gain emotional control over a girl, because never once have I seen my male friends go through such length to get back at eachother. It seems it's always a guy trying to teach a woman a lesson, but I hope I'm wrong.
