The jist I get from reading this, is that you have a fairly level head, and that you wouldn't necessarily put up with a man pressuring you to do anything sexual, in an internet relationship or otherwise. If he truly cared about you, he would have the patience to wait until you are comfortable and not demand anything.
You said you guys only talk through text, which is a concern. When dealing with someone you haven't met, it's quite easy to fill in the blanks and idealize them, basically making them into the person you want them to be, and that's something you have to be wary of.
There's nothing wrong with sending sexual pictures, but it has to be something you are completely comfortable with, and even then, you might want to be careful to find out more personal details about him, or avoid sending nudes that include your face.
You have to decide for yourself if this is something that you want, something that you're comfortable with. Don't do it just because you are scared of losing him. If he cared about you, he'd stick around either way.
