If it's his local and all his mates are there, I understand it. My local has regulars I have history with and I'd resent being told I couldn't go there, especially as I know I'm not going to cheat. Your chap sounds the same as he broke up with someone to be with you.
Is there any chance of your barring getting lifted if you apologise enough and promise good behaviour? If I was him, I'd be campaigning for you.
