The calorie diet is not for everyone, if your body needs more food than what the calorie diet suggest, then your body will go into fat-storing mode. Which means your body may think it's starving, so it will store food rather than take energy from the food you're eating, but the energy instead will come from the insulin in the blood.
What you should be doing is eating three full meals a day, with light, yet healthy snacking in between; this will fight the fat-storing thing and let your body know that you're not starving. Along with that, you should really exercise. If traditional exercising is too boring, then try programs like Cize or Zumba, where you dance and such.
