Ok, I know the title sounds a little ridiculous -- and maybe it is, but right now, I'm absolutely confused. Just to break it all down, I'm 24 years old and disabled. I was born with a rare birth defect which has caused me to have severe breathing problems as well as epilepsy. I often have seizures, and cannot walk for more than a few minutes at a time, so I never really leave the house. That said, I've lived a very sheltered life with my mother, and beyond what we do on a daily basis, I have very few social connections.

Anyway.. to get to the point: the other night I was in my room playing "My Little Pony" on Xbox 360 when I heard a loud thud from my mother's bedroom. Instantly I was worried, and after a moment of silence, I decided to rush down and open her door to see if she was okay. At first, I didn't see her, but when I called out, she stood up from behind her bed wearing only a bra from what I could tell. The look on her face was that of horror, which confused me, so I asked what had happened. She told me that she fell, and basically begged me to stay away. This seemed a bit odd and made no sense, so I took a few steps into the room and made my way toward her. This was when it got really weird. As a approached the bottom of her bed, making my way around to the other side where she was, she began to scream at me -- telling me to get out. Thinking she was just embarrassed from what had happened, I continued my way to her, worried that she was hurt. Well.. to say the least, that's when I became horrified myself..

Once I got to her and knelt down to help her up, I noticed that she had no pants or underwear on. To top it off, I saw that between her legs.. something was hanging -- dangling, and honest to god, it looked like a rather large penis. Naturally I flinched away.. as did she.. and for a moment we were silent. I abruptly got up.. took one more glance down.. I just had to, and to my terror, it was definitely a penis -- an erect one with rather plump testicles at that. Sickened, I quickly rushed out of the room and closed the door behind me. Since that day, about a week ago, we've not said a word to each other. Every once in awhile we'll run into each other in the house, but we always pass by quickly and basically ignore each other's existence.

So that brings me to the question here. Is this at all normal? Can anyone explain to me, how or why my mom would have a penis? I've had no contact with my father since I was born -- apparently he wasn't happy with my health problems, but I really want to know what's going on here. Has anyone else experienced something like this? Is it normal for a mother to have a penis? How can this be? I know I'm grasping at straws here.. but I want to understand..

    Your real mother left you not your real father.

    Then your father didn't want you to be without a mother.

    That is when he started dressing and living as a woman.

    So your mother is really your father, in drag, pretending to be your mother.

    That is all I can come up with.

    this is a total fictional story and you are a pretty good writer...i know it is fiction because you really dragged out the moment you opened the door to her bedroom and then went to her...the averageerson would also not go in if the person says they are fine and not to come in

    Your mother is transgendered (physically male, mentally female) and you were born via a donor uterus OR maybe your father was a transgendered female-to-male and your "father" gave birth to you.

    You'll have to talk with her, i know you're probably freaked out but she's still your mother. Explain that you don't CARE what she looks like down there, but you still want to know the reason behind it.

    I have a few explanations:
    1. Like Monsieur Parrish said, your mother was the one that left and because of psychological reasons, your father started dressing and pretending to be a woman (your "mother"). Maybe, he didn't want you to live without a "mother's love"...
    2. Shortly after your mother gave birth to you she had a sex change. She is transgendered. She (He) has a penchant for wearing women's clothes or after the surgery "she" felt that she looked too much like a woman and figured that she might as well wear women's fashions to avoid suspicions or having to explain things.
    3. She is a hermaphrodite. After she gave birth to you she removed her Vulva and now she just has male genitalia and breasts.

    I think the best thing might be to ask your "Mother" (Father) for her side of the story. I know that you two are still bothered by this but eventually you'll have to find out the truth and come to a resolve. Good Luck!
