Is it normal for your husband to not eat dinner with his family

Every night when my husband comes home from work he goes out the back to drink and smoke. He never eats dinner with us (myself, daughter and 2 step sons)On the rare occasion he is extremely hung over and tired he will eat on the lounge and then go to bed usually by 7pm. He usually stays up til late most nights.

Is It Normal?

    Men can be really solitary about certain things, but I think mealtimes are a really important bonding ritual for families and men should make the effort.

    That seems very anti-social to me. If he drinks a lot he might have some depression issues or a drinking problem.

    It depends on the eating rituals in your family, if its a big deal among the rest of the family members than he should be participating.

    Have you ever thought maybe your cooking needs a little work? Or maybe he just got off from a hard day of construction listening to his hard a** boss for 12 hours straight and he doesn't want to here it again from his wife and screaming kids over dinner

    My ex never came in when T was ready. It used to really upset me. I asked him to eat dinner with me a few times a week as I would appreciate that. I don't think guys realize we miss them at dinner times.
