  • You are really stupid. People do not CHOOSE to be kidnapped. If you get robbed in the parking lot that was not your choice. If a kid gets picked up walking home that was not his choice. If they kidnap some homeless person who was looking for a job they did not choose to be boarded onto the ship. You are really stupid if you think any of this is a CHOSE. Bad things happen sometimes but it is not like we wanted them to happen.

    • I disagree.
      They did choose this.
There are many things that we could do, to improve society, such that these types of occurrences become extremely unlikely to happen. However, many people have become complacent in such issues, or have promoted unrealistic (usually rights-based) solutions to these types of problems. The persons doing these types of acts, seem to have more 'rights' than the victim, at times. These were their choices.
Also, if a person is so extremely paranoid about such offenses, and they are unable to defend themselves against these types of acts, then they can always choose to seclude themselves from society.

In reality, these types of events are rare. It is media sensation coupled with political fearmongering which gives us these mostly unfounded fears.

      • Ok so you are saying every child that was picked off the street deserves to be, murdered and raped? You are a real asshole if you really think this is a good thing. That everyone chose for this to happen.

        • No, that is not what I'm saying.
What I said, is that, in reality, these types of events are actually very rare.
You have fallen for the media hype, and the political fearmongering.

When these types of crimes do happen, it is usually caused by a breakdown in civil society. Often, the perpetrators needed assistance with a mental health or societal isuue, but were ignored.
Also, societal paranoia (which you have exhibited) has caused a further breakdown in civil society, which exacerbates the problem, as we each feel more isolated from one another and have trouble developing trusting relationships with one another.
Then you add to this, with all these so-called 'rights' issues. The logical solution, for dealing with persons who are deemed to be 'beyond help', would be to remove these individuals from civil society (but not imprisonment). Instead, we often allow these individuals to reside among us. All these so-called 'rights' end up protecting the miscreants, not society.
