Is it normal for your crush to go to a movie with you, but not be dating?

So, a few weeks ago, I had asked my crush if she wanted to go to a movie with me, and she said yes. However, she already knew that I liked her (I had told her a few months prior) and it was just the two of us who had went, she is single as well. But she said it wasn't a date? I don't know much about dating, but that kind of activity between two people who are of the desired gender of each other's sexuality seems pretty date-y to me.

    Well perhaps she'd rather be friends. There's nothing wrong with maintaining platonic relationships. However if things get especially misleading for you, then I'd suggest maybe talking to her about how you feel. Talking can help reduce ambiguity in these sorts of situations.

    Ask her what’s really going on because I feel like girls with not a lot of dating experience sort of play games and want the guy to make a move but don’t really show signs. Tell her you were a little confused but hopefully if she’s really not into you you’re okay with just being friends with her😁
    (Also I say a girl with not a lot of dating experience because it seemed like you were younger when you said you don’t know a lot of about dating sorry if you’re older. If you are she probably just wants to be friends)

    She doesn't consider it dating because she probably doesn't find you attractive, or doesn't want a relationship at the moment. You can try clarifying that you want to go on an "actual date" with her, and if she declines then you should respect her feelings.
