Is it normal for white people to randomly touch me

before any of you get all in your feelings, i'm not talking about all white people. but this has only happened with white people. i noticed some white people, both men and women, feel comfortable putting their hands on you. this has happened to me at work several times with both white men and women.. another thing i noticed is they are usually older. like late 30's and up(i'm only 27 but i look very young for my age). i have had random white women and men at work just out of the blue put their hand on my shoulder or back when talking to me and i don't even know them that well. it's just kinda strange to me. i guess they might think i'm one of those oreo or white washed/non threatening looking black men and that's why? i don't know. i'm only 5'7 and very skinny, so no one is intimidated by me. is it normal for white people to be all touchy feely with each other? i know those white hippy/free spirited types are like that.

I don't think it's a race thing at all. Some people are just "touchers". My business group friend (and occasional FWB) is a petite, hot blonde, who almost can't help herself during conversation. Hand on my shoulder, back, arm..I've seen her do it with other people as well. She's just very expressive and likes to be hands-on.

We were in line at the movies one night, waiting, and I was behind her. She told me to "talk to me, touch me, I like that", and I had to handle her a bit. During business functions, she'll talk to someone new, and, same thing..Hand on his or her arm, shoulder, etc. Some guys take it as a flirt (and it might be) but it's mostly just her way. I have seen, however, a few times where the other person was uncomfortable and either cut the conversation short or backed away. Nicely, but backed away.

Touch them back in the same way and see their response. If they are cool with it, then it is normal, if not then ask them how does that feel when someone does that to them.

Maybe just watch what they are like with other people too, See if they are touching everyone, then it might just be an informal hello

To some it's like an expression and just their way of communicating.

It means that they respect you and trust you.

TBH ,I find black skin beautiful and now you have said it I really want to touch it.just because I never have, like an inquisitive child wants to press a button they have been toldnot to. That doesn't mean that it's okay for people to touch you without your consent, you have every right to tell them to back off or like someone said touch them back and see how they react but I think it's probably just curiosity/harmless unless you don't like it, then tell them not too

It's normal for all humans isn't it? Why should your or their colour come into it?

For older yes, also with Native men, I never noticed before but I guess most times with me they have been white too, older. So many different cultures with white people though so like you say not all, and then everyone different as individual.

Say no if it make you uncomfortable but it ok, meant with respect peace
