It's a drug dude of course it changes your reality, you have to be comfortable feeling differently or it's going to freak you out.
If your man has been smoking all the time he should (hopefully) be able to tell if it was laced if he was smoking it himself, so I wouldn't assume it was laced.
I think you should relax and take it one hit at a time man.

I'd like to add there is a difference between Indica, Sativa and Hybrids (though most cannabis is now a version of a hybrid).
