Is it normal for turkish men in usa to expect fiance to have $$$
I am an American woman and I was engaged to a well educated Turkish man. It appears that when I changed jobs and I had a reduced income, he did not want to continue with the marriage. We are older and he and I both went through a divorce. I have noticed that it seems Turkish men only marry wealthy American women. In there a dowry system that they expect to make money from a marriage that is common knowledge but unspoken particularly a second marriage is my question but also in general? I have been told by someone that has done business over there that men either want young wives or that if they are older they do not want to diminish their wealth in marrying them. I look attractive but I am not young. He does mention this. Is this is a money-centric male dominated society even among western educated secular types? Carrie.
