Speaking as a fairly tall guy (6'4"), I can tell you that the combination of tall guy-small woman works out fine most of the time. Standing kissing can be a bit awkward, but once things get horizontal, it's no big deal.
If your small stature has always been something you're very aware of, I can understand why you're attracted to big guys. It's about having a big guy to protect and care for you, right? No matter how self-assured and confident you are, everyone likes the idea of having someone more powerful on our side.
Would your girlfriends say you were weird if you were particularly interested in blondes or runners or guys with a quirky sense of humor? It's just a personal preference.
