Is it normal for tall friends to walk ahead of shorter friends in public ?

I have a friend who I have gotten to know for 2 years. She is 6'3 and I am 6'0. We have been to stores and restaurants and at each places, she walks like 3 steps in front of me. I feel like we are having 2 experiences, instead of 1. Is that normal ?
