Is it normal for someone to be lonely and jealous over other people?

I am a freshman at high school, and when I walk around the halls, I see people making out, hugging, and leaning on each other. I want to know if me being around these people cause me to be depressed and jealous. These people have already lost their virginity, and I have never had a "serious" girlfriend. (I only faked dated because the people don't like me and for attention)It makes me sad and I want help with it.

Join the club that was pretty much my life. There comes a point when you just get use to the loneliness, at least that's what I feel has happened to me. However, it's worth noting that just because you're single in high school doesn't mean that you're unattractive or deformed in anyway. It's high school, people are just trying to live it up while they're still young and don't have to face the real world yet. You're probably a cool guy, and when you leave high school you might begin to realize that. I was kind of like you in high school, but that's because most of my friends had girlfriends and I was lonely. But when you leave high school the world becomes a better place. You can be whoever you want to be and you might see that you're actually kind of a cool guy, at least that's what happened to me. All I can say is that what you're feeling right now is normal. If you want ask out a girl, maybe she'll like you. But don't go through high school thinking that there's something wrong with you because you're single.

Aw... That's me, but a bit different. I have someone (male) who I like. And a best friend (female) since 1st grade and another (female) since 3rd grade. We always hang out with eachother, but I think that he likes either one of them and not me... He and my 1st grade friend have ONE but OBSESSIVE thing in common: they both like this game called "Dragonville" or something like that. They're always chatting, and chatting, amd chatting...

With my 3rd grade friend, he and she are super much like siblings, have SO MUCH in common: like Pokemon, pervy stuff, both make funny voices (act like the couple Uncle Dopey and Auntie Janet - made up themselves), and they always tease each other (like joking around, tickles each other, and messing up each other's hair. When he messes up her hair, he's all like, "Oh... You look so cute (BTW she's super short, tiny, and cute, so I understand)!"

With me and him... EXTREMELY IN COMMON, but like I feel so lonely: we are part of the DM Club (Dirty Mind - made up), Pokemon (know all 718 and voices), love Japanese culture, love sushi and mochi (Japanese), I'm year of sheep; he's horse (believed to be secret friends), both partners for dancing (he chose me; first my 1st grade friend, got rejected (already chosen by his friend), asked me instead, I answered casually: Yah, sure... Doesn't matter., he freaked and bragged that he got a partner: I GOTS ME A GIRL!)
Yesterday (3/11/14), he sneaked up at me and hugged me, so today (3/12/14), I said: REVENGE!! And squeezed him so tight! My friends thought it was a group hug and also hugged. I was like: Oh, great...
And later, I gave him a question: If there was a sickness and you were one of the Chosen Ones to stay alive, who would you save? He said my 3rd grade friend, but she was also a Chosen One. Then he chose me. I was already being saved by my 3 friend... Too bad..

    Well, good luck!

I wish you well. Loneliness is fine and you can adapt to it but control the jealousy as thats a selfish emotion and can lead you to do things you'll regret.

What the fuck are you worried about? There are 27, 35 and 40 year old virgins on this site that have never had a date! You are what, 13? Don't be such a pussy. Whine, whine, whine.
If you aren't happy about your situation, then change it. What is absolutely the WORST thing a girl will do if you ask her out? Run down the hall screaming, "rape, rape, rape"? Or perhaps she'll pull out a fully automatic hand gun from her bag, and shoot you dead. Unlikely. Most likely she'll say no, thank you and that will be that. Of course, if you have (or at least show) a little self confidence and a pleasant smile, she might actually say yes. You will never know, if you don't try.
A hint; choose a girl who shows some interest in you, one who maybe smiles at you occasionally as you walk by, not the head cheerleader who goes out with the captain of the football team. Keep your mind and eyes open. I'm sure there are a few girls that think you are cute. A smile, a question, or even a nod will be missed if you are looking down at your feet as you walk the halls.
It is your life; take control.

Why are you getting all mad at me? I just asked a simple question? You don't need to get all pissy at me for asking a question on a website where you ask questions.

I'm trying to get you to understand that all this is in YOUR hands. Mad, I'm not, but perhaps if I make YOU mad, you'll get out there and start dating just to show me that I am an ass. Win, win for both of us.

Of course that's normal. Anyway, I'm mostly commenting to quote Anime7 for this: "If you want ask out a girl, maybe she'll like you."
