some smart people seem socially awkward because they don't see the point in small talk and just want to get to what's real. Some of them fail to see the merit in societal rituals that others think are required. get an intelligent person to talk about something they are passionate about and you will see that they aren't devoid of social skills. some of them are just reserved because they are tired of the masses giving them blank stares or making a mockery of their intelligence. most people that were credited as geniuses after their death were labeled as insane while they were alive. the mainstream culture in the united states reminds me of a giant, never ending high school. all you have to do is land every high five perfectly, and realize that when someone says "what's up", they don't want you to actually answer, just say "what's up" in reply.
Is it normal for some very smart people to be very sociable ?
