Is it normal for religions to display food?

Every religion I saw of other people, even the evil ones, involved acting social, togetherness and food peculiar to each religion. What I noticed is that Christian food is cheap food and nothing fancy, Buddhist food is Indian or oriental food and mainly vegan, and Muslim food is meat with not much meat on the bone, and associated vegetables, special food, made pure under halal laws of what meat you can or can't eat and of how it's killed. I tried Buddhist food which has a special oriental taste to it, possibly Malaysian, and Christian food which, I have to admit, is pretty good with a cup of coffee, and all this food is designed to gather you together to make the religion more attractive, so you can socialise, is this normal?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!
