He won't listen to reason, best you give now, there's no hope arguing with him.
Oleo has an intense need to feel self-important and be "right", and this wouldn't necessarily be a problem if he didn't hate himself so much. Unfortunately, he does, and as such you're essentially arguing against his right to be okay with who he is as a person. That's a losing battle.
haha its you-my comments must have hurt you deeply enough that you're following me around now trying to 'get revenge' or something.
Fwiw Kate you shouldn't take anything I say too personally, it's the internet and people say things to get a rise out of others. If my comments did hurt you I apologize.
We might be adversaries on certain views but I wouldn't want anyone to actually be affected by something I've said here in a negative way.
Now on this topic, I only have so much patience for religion-in the past I used to post well-considered/constructed arguments...now I'd just rather point and laugh at theists who are slaves to dark ages thinking.
Some slaves wish not to be be freed and prefer the shackles they have grown accustomed too. I prefer to rattle their chains and remind them of their own misery.
Well, I have a feeling these words serve you much moreso than they do me. Your first line... that's classic projection, straight out of the textbook. There's a definitive difference between frustration and pain. Even still, it's good you're saying those things, that's to be celebrated nonetheless.
On this topic though, the same thing I told wig, I'll tell you, as it relates to religious people. Even if you (and myself, frankly) believe that religion is akin to slavery, it doesn't matter how many well-considered, thought-out, carefully constructed arguments we provide. If someone needs religion in their life, we're essentially arguing against THEIR right to be okay with who they are, and that's a losing battle.
The only one who can make a person change is that person. The best anyone else can do is try to provide knowledge and tools to change. Basically - you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.
is it normal for physicists to attend church?
