Is it normal for people to take up to 30 minutes for a bowel movement?

Alright, I know this does not apply to me, but maybe for most people. But I've noticed that my brother and sister sometimes take up to thirty minutes in the bathroom to take a poop. I know you ask why would I even know. Well they tell me just to be gross or whatever. Anyway, I don't know it usually takes me less than five minutes to evacuate my bowels. Would you say this is abnormal or normal? I just think that is an ultra long time to take a dump.

    now i think about it, a workmate of mine goes into the toilet, everyday at 2pm and is in there for over 20 mins. we all call out to him to stop jerking off, he says he is just "regular". but we all know that he is playing with Mr Winky.

    Anything over 5 minutes and you're probably constipated. No point in staying on the toilet for something that won't budge. 30 minutes?!! Both of my legs wouldve fallen asleep for sure!

    my husband does this. I'm in and out of the bathroom as quick as possible, but he says he's always been like this and that his dad is the same way. everyone's different.

    I would have to say normal. I take my time in the bathroom. I see it as my special time on the throne where I can be alone, read, think and just relieve all my stress and flush it away

    I don't understand how people read and relax in there. I'm in and out in 2 minutes flat. Sitting there is uncomfortable.

    My BF takes 20 minutes a lot. He doesn't eat great food and is constipated, plus when he was a kid he found out he has an extra loop in his intestines or something.

    Your brother and sister probably are reading a book and trying to get away from you. ;) I was the oldest of four and did that a lot growing up.

    I think it's because some people go in there to try to go. I myself wait until I really have to go that way I'm not in there forever. Takes me less than 5 mins as well.

    I get my best reading in while taking a dump. I've read 50 books only in the bathroom. Only not at the same time of course.

    I for one only take like 5-10 mins to finish my dump and take like 15 mins for just hardcore thinking... Some of my best ideas have been born in the bathroom
