If that lonely person has any freaking decent brain cells, how about reading? Actively listening to music? Playing games? Tinkering with a project? Something for mind growth? Vegging out over an art project? Maybe they've never heard of mingling with new people for social company? Or, at the least, watch an actual movie or something?

Background noise? Have they heard of music? There's better, healthier background sounds than tv.
If they want to zone out? They really ought to try meditation. It works wonders.

    • Because people are different and like different things?

You're aware you have no control over what others choose to do, particularly in their own home, right? You find it annoying, that's your prerogative. They want to have a TV on all day, that's theirs. You'll live.

Maybe next time you're meditating, you should meditate on your lack of ability to put yourselves in other people's shoes and understand that while you're entitled to be annoyed by something, others are entitled to have different thought processes to you, and understand that it isn't an infringement on your rights. Nor is someone else being able to understand that perspective, while being different from their own, and stating it to you, a personal attack.

      Good luck with your meditating.

      • I agree with ya, the way you wrote that.

..except I can't believe you can't recognize wtf I'm talking about!?!?!

Okay, you're an idiot, I understand.

Fine and dandy if people want to do whatever they want unless it infringes upon another person. If a behavior is inconsiderate to others, that's like breaking the social contract or golden rule. Awful. That's when it is not to be tolerated. Um, yeah, my parents and their tv habits are their business. I'm still gonna vent. Grrrr, lol.

Hmmm, for fun, look at the data. Actually, don't do it. This might strain your thinking cap. It's fairly true that people that watch shitloads of tv are usually not all that healthy.

Sooo, if you partake in this ridiculously shitty activity, it won't affect me at all. Not a bad idea to do other things though.

        • I can recognise what you're talking about. I'm just capabke of seeing different perspectives (that means I don't do it myself but have the brain capacity to understand that other people are different and to think of possible reasons for said behaviour).

I didn't even have a TV for years, your assumption I watch copious amounts of it simply because I dtated another perspective puts you in the same retard pile as nikkiclaire. He's also incapable of seeing that others can see a perspective that isn't your own, or that stating so isn't a personal attack.

At no point did I say it was a healthy behaviour. At not point did I say you couldn't vent. I'm sorry you can't deal with being given possibilities.

Your claim of meditation seems bogus, btw. Just saying.

          You idiots deserve each other.
