I dont even have a TV. Just stream Hulu on my phone or laptop. But I have friends who find comfort in the background noise of the TV and so they just leave it on, because they live alone.
Why does it annoy you so much? That doesn't sound normal to me.
I probably wouldn't be friends with someone that leaves their tv on for background noise like that. Nope. Just being honest. Most of my friends have a greater knowledge base than most people about health. I, like them, know that exposure to such noise is generally unhealthy. It has negative effects on your circadian rhythms, and just general well being. That and, I can't imagine what would be so beneficial about running a blabbering tv all the time. That stuff is irritating. Anything on that tv is formulated crap meant to sell advertising slots. It's not worth your time. It's just unhealthy. Leave it off. I don't want to listen to hours of car salesmen at high volume, okay?
At least with streaming media, you can choose what you watch. Most people don't leave streaming media running continuously. Also, you can omit yourself from the shitty commercials.
I get where you're coming from but to some silence is just a disconcerting, especially for young women who live alone. If every small noise keeps you awake wondeing what it was then its just as bad for your health.
I'm not like that but some of my friends are, and I can bet after a while they don't even hear the TV. Its just white noise. They dont sit and watch it 24/7, its just on.
That's fair. I guess they live in an apartment with terrible sound proofing, lol.
What bugs me is less that the tv itself is on, more the fact that in my own case with my parents is that they've got multiple tv's on at fairly high volume blaring away some really maddening shit, lol. There's a reason I only sometimes stay at their house if I'm in town. Now, I just pay for a hotel. But I was at their house for the 4th of July. Ahhh, annoying!
If someone wants white noise though, try a Homedics SoundSpa. That's perfect.
If you do keep the tv on, perhaps wifi your tv to a streaming video that isn't full of obnoxious commercials. Seriously, I think those commercials are unhealthy.
IIN for people to keep tv's on ALL DAMN DAY (and night)? WTF?

Ahem.
How certain people park their cars irritates you enough to make a post and you can't handle anyone disagreeing.
So...who are you to criticise the OP?

Because criticism is what IIN is about. Go ahead and criticize me. I dare you.
Where is this post about car parking? LOL! Let them vent, okay???
I always park far away from the crowd of cars all next to each other. It has benefits.

Do you even know what "obsessed" means?
You wrote something and I responded. Learn to understand reality.
I'm calling her out for being a hypocrite for criticising you, genius

You should probably have taken that advice yourself.
