I am free this UK and have American friends. I know what you mean but I think you are misunderstanding the issue. Americans are very friendly, the picket fence, grins and waves stereotype. The rest of the world, Europe and especially Britain, people do things differently. People are sarcastic in Britain, people aren't always used to the nice American demeanour and can find that off putting. I would suggest asking a classmate to show you the best pubs around or to show you the local traditions and customs, e.g. vinegar on chips, gravy and chips. You'll have something in common as you'd be in the same class... Don't be disappointed we're good eggs, just a little eccentric at times.
Is it normal for people to experience this kind of rejection?
