Is it normal for people to believe you when you say you have stigmata?
I currently have a hole in my foot from standing on a nail. Yesterday a new friend of my wife's decided she wanted to give me a foot massage so I showed her my foot wound and said "you don't want to touch this, do you?"
She asked me how I hurt it and as a joke I told her it was stigmata, but she believed me. She was so excited and enthusiastic about it that it would have been awkward to tell her it was a lie so my wife and I just kind of tried to change the subject.
I would never have joked about something like stigmata if I knew she was a devout Catholic and actually believed in that stuff. Anyway, is it normal for people to believe you when you say ridiculous things like that? Nobody ever has before but maybe they're just used to me and my lies.
