Is it normal for people to be so ignorant about Islam?

  • "This "Sunni" and "Shia" concept is not mentioned in the Quran at all. It is merely something that has happened because of the people, and human division. For Muslims, there is Just one god, and One holy book, which is the Quran. "

Here's a challenge either you post some statistics showing that the majority of Muslims identify as neither Shia/Sunni and are strict Quranists, OR you're a lying piece of shit.

Go on prove me wrong give the title of a poll or statistical study that backs up your claim.

What would those statistics prove? Changes merely mentioned how those divisions are not mentioned in the muslims holy book, the Quran.

Reading through your arguments you like to make up accusations and go off topic. You are blinded by hate... please go see help.

      • Changes123 made a claim.
"For Muslims, there is Just one god, and One holy book, which is the Quran. That is what they truly believe in. "
I asked for evidence for that claim. He did not provide any because it is untrue.

You see I like to believe things are true or false based on whether there is evidence for them. How else do you suggest I determine what is true or false?

"Reading through your arguments you like to make up accusations and go off topic"
Please provide evidence for your claim.

I have been practicing Islam for over 14 years and can verify changes123 statement.
That is the mindset a majority of the muslim people have. Here is the Shahada all muslims must make.

اشهد ان لا اله الا الله و ان محمد رسول الله
اللهم اغفر لي خطاياي وطهرني من ذنوبي

What does it say? Yes. That there is only one god. Who is the prophet? Muhammad PBUH. Also, Is the Quran the one holy book Muslims believe in? Yes. But Muslims also believe that there are other holy books. Like The Bible, The Torah, Etc...

          • Show me where the Shahada is in the Quran then ;).

The Shahada is only found in hadith. You're quoting from hadith to prove that the Quran is the one holy book, lol, when in reality that proves the opposite. One of the pillars of faith is from hadith only. Of course the hadith collections are holy to Muslims just in a different way to the Quran, if not why recite Shahada?

If hadith is not holy to your faith why are the pillars of your faith found within it? and not within the Quran.

Out of interest since you are a Muslim. Are you okay with slavery and rape? Just wondering.
Also when Mohammed ordered the Banu Qurayza children be taken as sex slaves for his men, was that a good thing to you? Just wondering.

            • Yes there is a shahadah in the Quran as stated in the surah 3 Ali Imran verse 18: There is only one god. Surah 63 Al Munafiqin verse 1 that Allah recognizs Muhammad pbuh as the last prophet and messenger of Allah... And it is also mentioned in the Quran several times that there is also one god, and it recognizes Prophet Muhammad pbuh.

Changes means to say that there are hadith books that are false. he/she is not completely denying the credibility of all of them. You merely interpret whatever the person types as an attack against you. I understand where he/she is coming from since there are many people that try to warp religion. Sometimes, it's best to rely on the Quran. But that does not discredit Hadith, nor does he/she seem to either.

Of course I'm not okay with slavery, or rape. But It is not exclusive to the middle east. Slander will get you nowhere in life.

              • You can cobble together anything if you take different words from different passages.

No "Changes" said there is only one holy book. There are several Holy books to Islam, the hadiths for instance. While it is true that some ahadiths are not considered credible by Muslims there are other things from hadith that form the pillars of the Muslim faith. Like the Shahada as you so quickly yet accidentally gave an example of.

"Of course I'm not okay with slavery, or rape. "
So was it okay when Mohammed took slaves or when he encouraged others to rape their slaves? Remember a slave cannot consent to sex with her master, that would be like a child consenting to sex with their parents except the master of a slave has even more power than many parents have.
