When someone engages you in this kind of conversation, just come out with it and say you refuse to be a back-talker because it makes you feel bad and leave. Or for every bad thing someone says about someone, say something good. It will sound absurdly out of context and throw them off guard and they will get the message. But resist the urge to point fingers and go off on your family, calling every one out on what they all said. Don't throw fuel on this fire or you'll be the target they are all drooling over.
