Is it normal for parents to hate their kids?

My parents hated me they treated me so badly!!!! So it happens but it's not very appropriate in my opinion. Don't have kids if you are going to treat them like shit!

I think some people (who should never have been able to procreate) could hate their own children but a majority of "normal" parents always love their kids no matter what and more than anything else. I would do anything for my child and yes, even give my own life for hers.

I used to feel the same way, but now that I'm older, I look back and see that they weren't intentionally trying to hurt me. They were just doing the best they could at parenting & were overbearing because of their worry that my life turned out ok
