$20 a week is sufficient. That barely scratches the surface of the expenses your parents have with you living at home. The point is not the amount of money, which is moot-- don't you see? This is all about teaching you responsibility. This is just a small taste of the real world. $20 a week is not bad.
Your sister paying $10/week is not unfair either. A parent would not ask for the money unless the child has a job.
This is all showing you that a portion of the check and your income needs to go to responsibilties first and foremost. I see absolutely nothing wrong with your parents' method. In fact, I recommend same for all teens and young adults still living at home suckling the homefront. If you don't start somewhere, you'll end up nowhere.
Is it normal for parents to force you to pay board?
