I know a guy who calls himself a christian. Yet he drives a car with no rego, fills his recycle bin with grass clippings, has 2 big dogs he NEVER walks, preaches in places he knows he's really pissing a lot of people off, (cops included) an he's just generally a wanker. My question is, is it normal that a so called Christian would behave this way?
That's a tough one. Just because you think you're doing the right thing by preaching to someone doesn't mean you're going about it in the right way. And he sounds like a real asshat the way you describe him. I don't know, he may be genuinely trying to do a good thing, but you have to consider the fact that if you're upsetting someone, you're just doing it wrong.
I think there are christians who are good people, there are christians who are bad people but want to be good people, there are christians who are good people but are unsure if they want to be good people, non-christians who are amazing people, non-christians who are terrible people, and basically all the other possible combinations. I don't really think that being a practicing christian garentees that the person is great. I don't know if you like this guy or dispise this guy but you should give him a chance for you not to hate him and I bet he will suprise you even if you think he's a dick.
