Is it normal for objects and places to become very sentimental to me?

If anything had to do with my childhood, it is very sentimental to me. And like, if I used one pencil to draw some pictures I'm very proud of and love, I couldn't bare to lose that pencil. I have a lot of little nick nacks and junk because they are sentimental to me. My house I'm living at is entimental and this place I love to visit called camp Eden is sentimental to me...and I don't know why. You too?

Is It Normal?

  • oh and to top it off :) I get it with music. If I hear certain songs I will sit there and go off into lala land thinking about the last time I heard that song. Half the time the songs I hear that take me so far back are the ones that remind me of spending time with my sisters and family.

  • It is very normal to have objects because they are a part of your past and your memories.

I used to keep a tons of things because they were a part of my past. Now days because most of those items had to do with past relationships, I have let them go...some I trashed, others I tossed into a lake as a way of letting it all go and moving on....and the rest still sits at my mothers in her garage.

I have places in my home town I like to visit because I had good and bad times there....now days though, I wouldn't be able to visit these places because sometimes it make me miss my past too much.

  • It's very normal. The Toy Story movies mean a lot to me, as well as everything else that I remember from my childhood.
