I'm afraid I can't believe that this is 'legit'. You're confusing your girlfriend with your wife, but you don't just call her either 'wife' or 'girlfriend', surely if you was in such a relationship you would be able to define what side of the relationship you were on.
Secondly, fetishists like this do exist. Each to their own, as long as nobodies getting hurt in the process, I don't see what's wrong with it.
