Is it normal for my weight and eating habits to be this way?

I am 20 years old, 5'0 and 95 pounds. I haven't always been as thin as I am now. I lost weight by restricting calories...I am very very pleased with my body and I find myself in a much better mood ALL the time. I am submitting my story in lieu of the fact that my boyfriend and others have recently been questioning me about my weight and caloric intake. My boyfriend claims that I have lost a significant amount of weight since he first met me and claims that he never sees me eat (which is bullshit because i eat in front of him all the time). I often overhear my mother asking my boyfriend if I have eaten that day and my boyfriend gets upset when i weigh myself more than once a day. I do not feel that I have a problem, for I do eat, I just eat the right foods in the right proportions. My loved ones concerns though have driven me to further investigate these claims and find whether I should seek medical attention. So, is my body weight normal for my height and my age, and is it normal to control proportions and nutrition.

Is It Normal?

  • BS. 95 is a good weight for five feet. Check your BMI. People sometimes give me crap for my weight and said I had an eating disorder but those people all tended to be very over weight. I'm glad the new norm is "more to love". If you are unhappy in your weight, don't take it out on me. I'm 5'3" and 118.

  • Eat a lot of small meals day every 2-3 hours for about 4-6 times a day.

  • The only way to know is to ask your doctor at your next visit. You can ask your general practitioner, or go to urgent care for a simple physical, or kill two birds
And get a flu shot. They will tell you. Medical advice is the best advice.

  • Your body mass index puts you in the healthy weight bracket but only just. If you lost literally half a pound, you'd be considered underweight and would be in danger of risking your health.

I know it can't be easy hearing your mother and boyfriend talk that way and that you perhaps feel they are ganging up on you. But, in fairness to them, you are very close to an unhealthy weight. If you can bear to gain just five pounds, you'll be exactly where you need to be and can easily demonstrate it to them. Although I guess they'll still worry.

  • You might be a bit underweight imo. Hard to tell without pics.
Being conscious of what you eat is good, but try not to starve yourself. Planning diets based on calories ALONE is not good with your health.
I found the best and most effective way of losing weight in a healthy way is by exercising at least twice a week and reducing the amount of simple sugars (coming from sweets and sugar). Starving yourself is easy, working out regularly is not.
