  • Tampons may cause irritation or discomfort for several reasons: you internal body contours are not conducive to wearing the tampon, there are chemicals used to manufacture tampons which can cause diseases and discomfort (TSS), and improper insertion.

    Tampons are not only a poor choice for women because they are disposable and cause horrific pollution, but because manufacturers use chemicals and procedures which irritate internal tissue and cause allergies and reactions.

    Here are some better options from a human health perspective, an economical perspective, and will drastically reduce pollution. I have TheKeeper product, and have been using it for several years (and highly recommend it). Here's a listing reusable, natural product alternatives:
