Is it normal for my mom to defend my brother when we argue?

So me and my younger brother argue a lot and when we do my mom defends him on LITERALLY EVERYTHING. When I tried killing him in fortnite he started screaming and crying and my mom started shouting at me. I told my mom I was just trying to kill him and my mom shouts at me saying "Don't kill him". If my mom sees us two arguing she just starts shouting at me without knowing anything about whats happened. If my brother is in trouble and I'm not involved AT ALL then my mom will just tell me my brother learns the bad stuff he does from me.

    She does it, because he's the baby in the family. It's not, and I don't like it, but it happens to lots of other older siblings like us.
