I think its quite normal.
Looking back when I was 17, pretty sure my Mom was there when I had a haircut too.
17 is still young. Heck 21 is still young.
btw Howmany 17yo's go to the dentist without their parent there? You still get driven around by your parents and you still live at home. Of course your Mom (or Dad) will be there when you have a haircut. No ones going to touch their baby until they give the all clear! Plus you trust your parents will say NO don't cut there! Whereas a 17yo may be a bit too shy to say anything, until after its too late.
Generally 16yos don't own houses or have a mortgage.
Plus they are too young to solely hold the lease of tenancy on a rental!
Bills, amenities, again are via adult contract (gas, electricity, water, phone, etc.)!
Traveling around ie Grocery shopping, etc, is a tad difficult just on a bus!
Owning white goods, utensils, and furniture and many other things must mean you're rich at 16!
Money and savings and even tax, plus saving for holidays and those out of the ordinary times, is hard!
The responsibility of being totally independent for your life at 16 is remarkable!
Making ALL meals everyday plus cleaning, and disinfecting and maintenance on your property, WHILST either going to school or working or both! Must be a big strain on your independence!
Wow, only 16 with all this responsibility (and MUCH more). You must be thinking of having kids of your own soon? Please note, its MUCH MORE work ontop of ALL that independence WORK you have already.
'Independence' is NOT just getting your haircut and keeping dental appointments.
Independence means not depending on anyone and fully taking care of yourself and usually others as well (since you are so independent people start relying on YOU more)
All this and 16?
Its ironic, but I feel I didn't really mature until 25, and I moved out and became 'independent' at age 18!!
I lived with my parents had an rx8 and I payd for still a lot of stuff I paid the rent all of it my parents paid the rest I know good jobs I was hard working ps when I turned 20 I had a 2 story house with a pool and I live there with my gf well we go through collage so ya Im indapendant ive worked hard sense I was 5 I can handle myself
IIN for my mom/dad to take me to get a haircut and pay at age 17?
