I'm 22 and my cossack father won't step through the door of my home without his belt slung over his shoulder. The beatings never end no matter how old you are. It's your parents, they'll beat you bloody if you're bad enough, just how it works.
Though if it's over the ass that's strange and not normal. I've always gotten it on my upper back or my forearms, Russians don't spar the pretty faces but if your cultural shuns that then that would also be abnormal.
The whole bareass beating is strange and too foreign for me to understand, but really it's up to you to decide what's right.
Never should a non-blood relative administer a beating. Just gross.
