Sounds an awful lot like Parvo. Is it a young dog? Younger than a few years? Does the dog have a loss of appetite? Is it dehydrated? Does its discharge has a particularly foul odour?
Parvovirus is hell. I hope it's not the case. Best case scenario is that the dog ate a sharp bone that punctured an intestine a small amount
