Is it normal for my bf to not give my gifts

So my bf doesn't really give my gifts or surprises or anything. I mean he has, when he goes somewhere (which isn't often) he will usually get me a shirt, he gave me a necklace for Valentine's Day and for my graduation he got me some candy and he gets flowers for anniversarys. But that's it. Is that normal? Idk.. I see girls getting stuff and surprises from their bfs and he doesn't rly do that.

    • A lot of the time. I get him game tickets and groceries and shirts and got a bunch of stuff for his new apartment and I always go to his house

Very well then, you should have mentioned that to begin with. However, not everyone is a constant gift giver, it doesnt mean they don't care, so if you really feel like its uneven, stop buying him stuff and see what happens.

Hey every guy is different. Yes he's done things for you but you don't feel it's enough? Maybe comparing him to others isnt faor. Does he knoe you're dissatisfied with what you feel is lacking? I know i was in a similiar situation but for different reasons. I was with someone for multiple years and barely got her anything. Not even an anniversary gift. I would just take her out for Birthdays and such. I didnt realize it meant anything since i felt those thing's were materialistic but i realize now that its not always so. If your man isnt aware don't expect anything to improve, that's just a FYI

It's normal. You don't get into a relationship for gifts. You get into a relationship for the person

You should warn him that his girlfriend is materialistic and shallow.

I suggest you advise him that, according to the implicit contract he agreed to when becoming your boyfriend, he is obliged to spend a certain percentage of his net monthly income buying you gifts.

If his income is such that monthly gifts could only be frivolous and not involve anything sparkly, give him the alternative of setting up a savings account where he can deposit money, but inform him that you will expect to see a deposit receipt every month.

Then you should date a 50 yrs old sugar daddy if you only live for gifts. Enjoy sucking that nasty old dick.

My boyfriend and i have been together for 2 years and the only thing he's gotten me was a snapped in half skateboard i turned it into a shelf. But just because he got me one thing diesnt mean anything. He loves me and i love him.

Hint to him things you want as a test :-) See if he gets you more gifts?

    I'll ask for a Ferrari.

"Hint to him things you want as a test"

This is why guys say girls play mind games.

Don't dance around it, tell him how you feel. Yes it is normal. Especially if he dosen't know how you feel.

If you have to be serious, alright. But, I wasn't being serious. Was the asking for a Ferrari enough of a clue?

        Maybe, lol.

Does he put a roof over your head and provide you with food? If so, dont be so needy

The poor girl probably gonna sign out forever now
Be grateful for what you get tho he probably not even thinking about that and if you feel like you deserve more talk to him then you might be surprised at what he's thinking but try not to sound greedy and spoiled about it
Personally I think it's normal most girls don't even get flowers or anything on Valentine's Day you don't need gifts to know he loves you or care

Some occasions just aren't important to guys. If you have specific dates that you think should be celebrated then i suggest you make a fuss over it quite often or else your bf just wont register that its something you want to celebrate. As for surprises.idk. hit him on the head and tell him you want a surprise. But dont be upset if its not what you expected.

That's normal, in fact that's better than what most girlfriends get. I shower my boyfriend with paintings and I've gaven him a lot of nice gifts like a record player and a vinyl. he's never gaven me anything other than his socks, a frosty, and some fries from in and out. But I like giving so I don't really care, I only mention it because some people don't get flowers or candies. It took my sisters boyfriend two years to buy her flowers, and that was only because he got in a really really bad drunk fight with her and destroyed her room.

Women have no right to complain about their boyfriends: they're the ones who pick em, and trust me, there's a lot more out there than the ones whomst are being picked.
