My best friend is a girl. We get criticised for being close friends and people describe it as not 'normal'. My girlfriend in particular hates it. I've been cheated on by past girlfriends but I'd never hurt her because I love her. But all this criticism over my best friend being a girl is driving me mad. Thoughts??

    My BF has a female friend he hangs out with..they go to coffee together, go to get lunch together, I don't mind because she's happy with her boyfriend and he's happy with me. It happens and they knew each other for years.

    I think it's normal. Many of closest friends are girls. I don't think you should let your girlfriend control your friendship. She needs to get over herself or move on.
