I am 23 years old and have been sucking my thumb since I was 3. I think it is completely normal. Thumb sucking doesn't automatically mean you will end up with buck teeth, It depends where you apply the pressure while sucking, I would place it on the roof of my mouth...It's just a habit that is hard to break. A lot of people find it strange and unacceptable especially for someone who isn't a baby. She is probably just a sweet, shy little girl who finds comfort and peace when thumb sucking:)
